Kick and Sticks of Midland has started their Indoor Youth Soccer season. 

Went to watch my 6 year old grandson play his first indoor soccer game.  

he played keeper and forward and he is  (poofiing out my grandfatherly chest) really quite good by 6 year old standards.

i love to watch the little guys play soccer and the big guys .... what a great sport ...

and to think when my son wanted to play soccer i told him ... no you don't son ... you want to play football, baseball, and basketball ... when he presisted ... i told him it was a communist plot to take over the united states.   he and his mother won out and i learned the rules of soccer.

so if you are out and about in the evenings drop by Sticks and Kicks Indoor Soccer Arena and watch the youngsters play soccer.

the facility is better than the one my kids played at in Albuquerque which isn't saying much.

it has been years since i was at the indoor arena in Lubbock but as i recall it was pretty decent.

the best facility where my kids played was in Phoenix.  

it seems Midland and Albuquerque with the strong soccer programs would both have better indoor facilities.

still it is fun to watch the kids .... and even the adults play.

new owners are locked into the facility for a few years but are already making plans for a new arena.  

i had not been around the old arena since my son was in high school.  My 6 year old grandson is now playing and it seems to be in pretty good playing condition. 

They have good crowds for the matches and it is so much fun to watch the kids play.  I now have 2 grandsons and a great grandson playing there.
