So here we go...

I had some plans to jam on Saturday and Sunday night... No big deal, I was looking forward to it.  I hop in the car and begin my journey to Greenwood to setup shop in a shop.  Finally, I make it to my destination and tune up the guitars, make a few wiring adjustments and then plug in my new toy... a Sony Hi-MD digital recorder... just so Evan and I could reflect back on what we were trying to do and what we had played... This thing, mind you, holds 1 GB on each minidisc, or in layman's terms a lot of friggin space, hours of raw audio.

Needless to say, this thing caught it all on "tape".

After setting up a beta mic over the drum kit, saving some time and effort (knowing we suck anyway) I start throwing some riffs down, and really it turned out pretty well.  I don't give us enough credit, none of us do.  So we're trying to write some new tunes and after a while of playing we decide to playback what we've recorded.  OK, sounds pretty good concidering the really crappy setup and I think we've got a few things that we can expand upon.

Well, shortly after, Evan finds an old Eminem CD laying around in the shop, yelling "Oh SH!T, this is really old. This has been here for a few years. I forgot I had this".  I'm thinking to myself, "why did you buy that in the first place?".   Well, after kocking the dust off of it he pops it into the cd player.  By this time I've already hit record on the MD... Evan is being really stupid and picks up the mic and beings to try and flow to the beats of Eminem.  I'm thinking, WTF?  But then shortly after I grab another mic and, stupid me, start doing the same thing, just yelling out stupid random sh!t.  We'd been drinking Jeagermeister, so that probably didn't help much.  Evan is chanting out such things as, "I'm just a cracker, a big white cracker like a saltine cracker, jelly smacker...".

After a while we stop and I said "Yea, that was all recorded."  Evan looks shocked, but regardless, I play it back.  It was some of the funniest crap I think we've ever achieved.  Evan is laughing so loud he begins to snort, repeatedly, and at that point I cannot catch my breath.  Funny stuff... good times.

I'll be selling copies for $10 a piece if anyone is interested in some real, true Cracker Rap...  j/k.

Needless to say, I think we'll just stick to the drums and guitar.
